These illusions do not readily fall into any particular category, but are worthy of inclusion nonetheless.

It seems that this triangular "nothing" has considerable presence thanks to the sectors missing from the discs

  In a similar vein, the eye sees an "I", but with curved sides, despite there being none present.

This is not so much an illusion as a perceptual confusion. It was first discovered by the Dutch psychologist Stroop and named after him.
